Dynegy Inc. officials have announced plans to file the Illinois Generation Reliability Act with state lawmakers.
Under the legislation, Illinois’ ComEd and Ameren service areas would be moved into the PJM power market.  Dynegy officials say the move would move Illinois into one reliable market while protecting consumers against higher rates and maintaining jobs and economic benefits.  Additionally, officials say the act would ensure consistent reliability throughout the state.
The legislation already has supporters in State Senate Majority Leader James Clayborne (D-Belleville), IBEW 702 Business Manager Steve Hughart, and IBEW 51 Business Manager Matt Moore.
