We wanted to let the Coalition know where things stand. Over the summer, negotiations continued about how to redesign Illinois’ flawed energy market. Nothing is final yet, but there are two options under consideration that would stabilize the market and allow downstate plants to continue to operate. We’ve posted an update on the newer option, known as FRAP, on our website. The Illinois Generation Reliability Act, that would create one statewide competitive market, is still an option that has support from labor and market experts.
