We wanted to let the Coalition know where things stand.

Over the summer, negotiations continued about how to redesign Illinois’ flawed energy market. Nothing is final yet, but there are two options under consideration that would stabilize the market and allow downstate plants to continue to operate.

We’ve posted an update on the newer option, known as FRAP, on our website.

The Illinois Generation Reliability Act, that would create one statewide competitive market, is still an option that has support from labor and market experts.

The General Assembly is only scheduled for six more days of session for the rest of the year. As attention shifts from elections back to policy, we must tell our officials that we expect them to take action to keep Illinois powered by Illinois jobs.

Now is the time to show lawmakers what power jobs mean to Illinois’ economy. Take a minute and send an email and register with the Coalition.

Your message will be joined by thousands of others, like these resolutions from labor, and demonstrate the importance of power jobs to Illinois.
